ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education)
This year, our playshcool has been accepted on the Early Childhood Care & Education Scheme (ECCE) which is a free Pre-School year which is being run by The Office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs (OMYCA).
This means that we have been able to offer a free place up to July for the 8 children who were born between 2nd February 2005 and 30th June 2006.
The Playschool is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday for 46 weeks of the year
From April 2011 the Playschool will be taking new applications for September 2011.
The funding for the ECCE scheme at Little Acorns is managed by Pobal and is directed from the office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs through National Childcare Investment Programme (NCIP 2006-2010)

CCS (Community Childcare Subvention Scheme
This subsidises fee payments for lower income families and targeted groups, we started this in September 2010 and it has been a great success.
The CCS is funded by the OMYCA through the National Childcare Investment Programme (NCIP)
